The Monaco Yacht Show will be holding a new superyacht event this September. Monaco Yacht Summit, as this first edition of this new event is called, will open its doors on 24th September, one day before the start of the world’s most prestigious pleasure boat or indeed superyacht show, the Monaco Yacht Show 2013.
The Monaco Yacht summit will be taking place within the now infamous Grimaldi Forum, which is located just before the East entrance to the famous Monaco tunnel, directly in the heart of Monaco, and less than a kilometer away from the Port Hercules. The Monaco Yacht Summit will distinguish itself from the Yacht Show mainly by its aim to provide an annual forum for the yachting world. This forum is needed in order to discuss and resolve issues of importance to yacht owners and buyers as well as in order to create space where everyone in superyacht industry can meet in an informal atmosphere before meeting up in a more formal environment of the superyacht show taking place the following four days.
The Summit’s main aim is to bring a panel of experts, company heads and leading figures from the yachting world together. The secondary aim is to provide leaders from other then the yachting industry who should be able to meet up with all the best individuals from the yachting industry and that way either profit from the liaison with them but also to enrich the debate and broaden perspectives.
Taking the form of three round table discussions based on previously chosen issues, the Monac Yacht Summit will therefore give all individuals and companies involved a platform to discuss any issues within the yachting industry but also discuss any potential opportunities and new projects. Before general discussions, the chosen subjects will be introduced by a relevant industry expert, followed by discussion among the panel of personalities, with a well-known figure acting as facilitator.
With this new event, the Monaco Yacht Show leaders have partnered with the Monaco Government Tourist Office and Local Convention Authority for the first time in 23 years. The organisers are expecting that this summit will both enhance the offering of the show itself as well as give additional boost to the superyacht building, chartering and brokerage sectors worldwide, while at the same time confirming the status of Monaco as the first address in the super luxury and super yacht world. Given that last year a record of 33,000 professional and private visitors come to the Monaco Yacht Show, this year the organizers hope a new record will be set and new initiatives created for everyone involved with the super yachts, super yacht charters, super yacht brokerage and luxury brands in general.
