Magnum Marine displays the newest Magnum 51 at the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show 2014. This new, blue, Magnum 51 has been delivered this summer 2014 to a client in Miami. Equipped with twin MTU 10V2000M94 of 1,600 HP, this boat represents the results of Magnum Marine new studies in a more environmental friendly boat, especially on fuel economy and speed.
Amazingly, this over 70 MPH yacht charter boat will use only 100gph, thanks to the lighter weight, common rail engines, the stiffer and lighter hull construction and the surface drives system. The new Magnum 51 will be displayed at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, to be held this October 2014 and will be, by special appointment and permission from owner, available for sea trials after the show. Interiors of this new model include a large salon and galley, master stateroom, head and crew cabin. Also called “Bestia”(Beast), the boat is characterized by her tremendous speed, acceleration and brute power.
The Magnum 51’ is a narrow beam, deep-vee, very heavy hull, generally equipped with twin Caterpillar or MTU diesels of between 1600 and 1925 HP each coupled to Arneson surface drives. The top speed can reach up to 74 MPH. Very impressive is her unbelievable seaworthiness in all weather conditions. She slices through the waves and can safely and comfortably make long crossings in rough seas, whilst large yachts remainin port. In spite of her small size, the Magnum 51’ has approx 7’ headroom and boasts a comfortable double cabin with Queen sized berth andplenty of closet space, a large head with stall shower, a salon, galley and crew cabin. The cockpit, with bolster helm and companion seatsalso features an L-shaped side and transom seat and sundeck.

Two new models
Magnum is developing the restyling of two new models, also driven by new environmental concerns on fuel savings. The new Magnum 70 and the new Magnum 60 (both to be launched in 2015) will use less fuel for a similar performance thanks in part to new lamination technology that yard soon announces. Those models will also producemuch less noise and less pollution. At the request of new Magnum clients, both models will have a very light hard top, which will protectfrom rain and provide shade, without giving a totally indoor enclosed feeling. One of the client referred: “I don’t want to feel as ifI were indoors; I would like to feel as if I were outside, but under the shade of a tree. Magnum has achieved his goals. The windshield, protects from the air; and the top protects from the sun and the rain; nevertheless, the new Magnums still feel like being in an open boat; he owner of the first of this new series has named his boat “Freedom”. Both models are presently under construction.
A new book along with the Magnum Marine Museum!
