Heesen Yachts announced the sale of their first 45m fly bridge vessel nicknamed Project Necto. She was sold to a genuine yacht connoisseur with a true passion for Heesen’s core values of super yachts built out of aluminium delivering great speed and with plenty of power.

Immense power and exhilarating speed, combined with highest luxury and comfort are indeed the main characteristics of this full aluminium, hard chine, semi-displacement super yacht that will have an amazing range of 2.750Nm at 12 knots. The YN 17145 Project Necto is a truly powerful super sport yacht, in fact she is the largest sports yacht built by any Northern European shipyards to date.  Necto will be capable of speeds of up to 30 knots, mainly thanks to the combination of the well-engineered hull and superb twin MTU 16V 4000 M73L super yacht engines, each providing up to 2.880kW. It is not clear at this stage if the yacht will be available for luxury crewed yacht charters upon delivery, yet similar models already exist in locations such as South of France, Greece and Italy.

heesen45mprojectneroThe design of the exterior lines was completed by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects who kindly provided the accompanying photograph.   The new feature or latest innovation of their design is the introduction of the ‘knuckle’ – a design element that interrupts the line of the raked bow, with its much sharper and narrower bow, giving a particularly aggressive look to this new breed of Heesen super yachts.

The interior design of Project Necto is being completed by successful Italian designer Cristiano Gatto. The new owners chose a modern, yet cosy and almost minimalistic decor for the interior of their 45m Heesen superyacht.  The use of the warm Canaletto walnut is the main veneer, which is bound to perfectly complement the light tones of another one of Italian super designers from Loro Piana, whose fabrics and the warm colours of the different finishes, together with pale blue soft furnishings give a relaxed and light feeling to the yacht’s interior.

The yacht will be able to provide accommodation for up to ten guests in five sumptuous staterooms.   The obligatory full beam master suite will be located on the main deck, while the remaining four guest cabins, two of which will be twins, will be located on the lower deck.

Keen lovers of the outdoor life, the new Owners dedicated special attention to the outdoor areas of their new superyacht.  The most impressive area will definitely be the 84m2, ultra-spacious sundeck which is designed to be completely free from fixed furniture.  Project NECTO is expected to be delivered to her Owners after extensive sea trials in the North Sea in January 2016.

heesen45mprojectneroFounded by Frans Heesen in 1978 in the town of Oss, the Netherlands, Heesen Yachts was the first Dutch shipyard to employ aluminium alloy for the building of yacht hulls. Since then, the yard has become a world leader in the design, engineering and construction of high performance, all-aluminium motor yachts and is increasingly known for delivering pedigree yachts at reduced delivery times.  In 1992 Heesen Yachts expanded their business to include the construction of traditional displacement, long-range steel-hulled yachts, and today the company can also deliver magnificent private yachts within the 37 to 70 metres size range, and beyond.

The current fleet which is to be found across all world oceans, includes aluminium, steel, displacement, semi-displacement and the new revolutionary fast displacement models. Additional twelve yachts are currently under construction and their deliveries span through to 2017 with new orders happily being taken.
