Stealing the flashlights at the Monaco Yacht Show is not easy, yet if a prestigious shipyard such as Heesen presents their largest project to date, in this case the fast displacement super yacht Kometa, the task becomes much easier. Currently being built in the Netherlands, super yacht KOMETA is the fourth luxury charter yacht by this Dutch shipyard to carry a fast displacement hull form, all designed by Van Oossanen Naval Architects.

Heesen Kometa

With a sleek and very elegant profile designed by Espen øino International, this 230’ splendid super yacht is deemed to represent the perfect combination of speed, space and style. The mega yacht of amazing proportions and unbelievable speed will provide so much space and so many options. First of all, she will feature as near as makes no difference close to 360m2 of deck space, either on the sumptuous sun deck or all the way down to beach club between whose there are additional ten alternative corners for the Owner and the family or for all yacht charter guests to choose from depending on the activity they wish to enjoy, including sunbathing, formal dining, relaxing spa, cocktail parties in the Jacuzzis, swimming in the pool or just lounging around in the sun or shade.

The swimming pool alone is due to attract a lot of attention due to jet stream  which will enable everyone to either swim properly, or enjoy the lovely views, given its infinity styling with a waterfall cascading from the upper deck. As a fast displacement yacht, she is likely to be cruising at high speeds, thus the designer created a yacht with partially enclosed sun deck, This will allow guests to use the space even during high speed cruise or if elements would not otherwise allow this to be done. With a touch-and-go helipad on foredeck, a genuine beach club with a large tender and water toys garage at stern and with a very intimate interior, the delivery date (Spring 2016) of this super yacht which is already approved and in the final stages of construction, is likely not to come soon enough.

Most important features at a glance:

  • Advanced technology includes the revolutionary fast displacement hull, a ground breaking fixed pitch propeller and a Rolls Royce central booster jet
  • Foredeck can be used as touch-and-go helipad, sunbathing, informal dining or transformed in outdoor cinema
  • 6m swim-jet infinity pool with waterfall, glass panelled bottom and spa jets for hydro massage
  • 44 m2 space of platforms unfolding from the 146m2 beach club
  • Shaded sun deck that includes sunpads, barbeque, bar, dining area and lounge
  • The upper deck combines with the sky lounge to create an enormous indoor/outdoor entertainment area of 92m2

Finally, the guest accommodation will be suitable for 12 guests and will be very generous with a master suite being full beam and expecting to spread across full 85m2. As with most Heesen yachts, the Owner’s cabin is to be located forward on the main deck and will include a large en-suite, balcony, a separate study and spacious dressing room. The VIP guest suite is to be located on the wheelhouse deck while the remaining 4 guest cabins will be on the lower deck as usual, each with their own en suite and entertainment systems.

If all this is not enough to excite you to embark on a luxury mega yacht charter vacation of a lifetime, than the news that HEESEN will embark on building an even larger super yacht, a 90m/295’ giga project whose construction will begin early next year, will probably do.

More about Heesen Yachts:

Founded by Frans Heesen in 1978 in the town of Oss, the Netherlands, Heesen Yachts was the first Dutch shipyard to employ aluminium alloy for the building of yacht hulls. Since then, the yard has become a world leader in the design, engineering and construction of high performance, all-aluminium motor yachts and is increasingly known for delivering pedigree yachts at reduced delivery times. In 1992 Heesen Yachts expanded their business to include the construction of traditional displacement, long-range steel-hulled yachts, and today the company can also deliver magnificent private yachts within the 37 to 70 metres size range, and beyond.

The current fleet which is to be found across all world oceans, includes aluminium, steel, displacement, semi-displacement and the new revolutionary fast displacement models. Additional eleven yachts are currently under construction and their deliveries span through to 2017 with new orders happily being taken. Some if not most are currently offered for luxury crewed mega yacht charter holidays and adventurous family sailing vacations or are currently advertised for sale.

M/Y KOMETA is not expected to be available for luxury crewed yacht charters in the Mediterranean next summer. She may be offered for super yacht charters and family holiday cruises as of winter season 2015 however, thus you can enquire about her availability and charter offering shortly.

In case you are interested in chartering one of these or similar yachts or wish to consider purchasing one of the models which are offered for sale, do let us know by filling out the CHARTER REQUEST FORM or send us an email to charter@supersailyachts.com now.
