One of the latest Italian designer Shipyards, Admiral Sail, sets sail on its latest project, Silent 76, the double-engined – 23.15m deck salon sailing yacht with endless customisation options including a full custom hard top …

Named  “Gigreca”, this deck-salon luxury sailing yacht features a composite hull and deck, completely different  from other similar yachts in the same category, the Silent 76ft boasts a double engine configuration which guarantees fast and safe passages, without compromising the performance under sail.

Press Release:

The Silent 76 creates a new breed into the blue-water cruising yachts; she is clearly a fast cruiser, offering a high level of customization both inside and outside, all cloaked into a proven hull.

‘Gigreca’ is also characterized by a full custom hard top, made of aluminum and glass, delivering a shadowed and protected area to the all cockpit. Furthermore she boasts a dark metallic grey hull with dark red waterline stripes; the superstructure is painted in beige, while the hard top, aft rollbar and spars follow the same color scheme of the hull. The big size hull windows, directly bonded into the hull, offer a fantastic seascape view, both at anchor and under sail and flooding the yacht interior with natural light.

Below deck the yacht is incredibly spacious, offering guests areas usually typical of much bigger yachts, thanks to the substantial volumes offered by the hull. The same thing applies to the cockpit, where the sensation is to be on a 90 footer, although while steering the yacht really feels very easy to sail, both under engines and under sail.

Inside, the yacht has been full customized by the owner and she offers four large cabins of which one master, one vip, one double berth and one double bunk cabin, each served by en-suite head with separate shower. This delivers unrivalled privacy to both owner and guests. Of course the interiors may be organized in a different way as this model comes with several alternative solutions, not to talk about the interior finish, joinery and other details which are all at owner’s choice.

Being the Silent 76 a deck saloon, the core area of the yacht is of course the slight raised saloon, which boasts unmatched volumes and include the galley which on ‘Gigreca’ is intended to form an open space with the saloon itself; within this area also the chart table finds space, in a sort of continuity with the galley counter top. All the interiors are further enriched by precious material usually found on motoryachts, like marbles, onyx, several kind of natural leather, which have been worked to be as much light as possible, in order not to affect the performances under sail.

Forward below deck, the crew area has been placed, with direct access from deck (through a dedicate hatch) and featuring a double bunk cabin, a separate head with integral shower and a laundry corner which is provided with a washer dryer; this area also gives access to the sail locker which is at the very forward end of the hull (there would be also the possibility to have an access from deck to it).

On alternative layouts there may be the possibility to have an actual separate crew quarter for permanent crew to live on board for long periods, and to be integrated with the galley area; on ‘Gigreca’ the owner is sailing the boat for himself, together with the family, and the crew is only intended to stay on board for short periods, helping the owner mainly for mooring operations and to keep the yacht clean and running.

Outside the yacht really doesn’t let down the promises of the interior, offering huge spaces which are totally dedicated to relax, sunbathing and ‘al-fresco’ dinners, being the most of the rigging hidden below deck; the central cockpit, at deck level, is split in two areas, the one aft all dedicate to the steering wheel stations and maneuvering and the one forward all organized for guests, featuring a double teak and stainless steel table, fridge and lounge areas besides the companionway.

Aft of the steering wheels, a flush deck area can be filled with cushions for sunbathing and from this area we find the deck access to the opening transom and garage. This is actually one of the key points of the yacht, being one of the biggest garage ever found on yachts of this size, able to host one waterjet tender up to 3,2 meter and a jet ski, one alongside the other.

With regards to rig and sail handling the yacht can be easily sailed by a couple, without the need of an actual crew, being everything ‘push button’ operated. The standard carbon boom can host an in-boom furling main which can be operated from the two pedestals with an electric system, while the mainsheet has two fixed points on the aft rollbar and it’s managed by a magic trim, concealed below deck at mast level.

The non-overlapping standard foresail features an auto-tacking system which is served by a traveler and uses one halyard only to be operated. All the other halyards run below deck too, in order to leave flushed and clean side passages.

The same concept has been followed while designing the foredeck, which is totally free from obstacles and features flush to deck ports and hatches, rollaway stemhead, cleats and fairleads, plus a towing winch that disappears below deck when not in use.

During Monaco Yacht Show 2014 S/Y Gigreca had the pleasure to receive the plate referring to the Green Plus Platinum certification and Comfort certification both issued by RINA (Registro Italiano Navale).
