Luxury Sailing Yacht SWAN 65-1 Charter Brief:
SWAN 65-1 is a genuine piece of history. Built in 1975 and with her recent refit in 2012, she is now even more beautiful then at her launch. Back in 1999, she was initially converted by her owner Gijs van Liebergen from the genuine racer into a luxury performance sailing yacht fitted with modern features, whilst maintaining its original design and charm. This update kept the original form, exactly what makes King’s Legend so unique: her history, her speed and slender design, and the beautiful teakwood interior. Designed by the famous Sparkman & Stephens design studio, the designers of the first 775 Swan and the famous Sayula which won the first even Whitbread Round the World Race in 1974, Swan 65 is suitable for corporate sailing events, such as regatta racing and relaxed cruising holidays. Her crew are usually offering luxury crewed sailing holidays in the West Mediterranean during summer months and in the Virgin, Leeward and Windward islands of the East Caribbean during witner months.

The company was founded in 1966 with a first new major investor joining in 1969 after the fire destroyed most of the shipyard and hulls created to date. Finish owner, Pekka Koskenkyla sold part of the company to new investor Wilhelm Schauman Oy which enabled the company’s survival. A group of investors came on board in late 1990’s and control the major stake in the shipyard ever since. The origianl US designers Sparkman & Stephens were initially replaced by Ron Holand of New Zealand in mid 1970’s with the Argentianian German Frers services being secured in the 1980’s. To date, more than 2000 Swan hulls are cruising the worlds oceans and all are recognised as one of the best sailing yachts in the world.

SWAN´s experienced yacht charter crew of up to 2 including the captain, have a separate head and shower but may share companionway with guests.
Guests may not be allowed to bring pets on-board.

SWAN’s 65-1 yacht charter prices start at 11,000 Euros in low season, while high season prices are as high as 14.000 Eur plus APA expenses. In some locations VAT may have to be charged on top & prices can be higher on days such as NEW YEAR or during special events such as Racing regattas or major Yacht Shows.
